Aluminium bi fold doors, or bi-folding doors, have been growing in popularity over the past decade and have now become recognised as a fundamental feature when designing new-build homes, extensions or even in renovation projects. There are many reasons for this rise in demand and they relate to versatility, space saving, increased natural light and being able to bring your outside inside, with a flush floor level. A folding and sliding door enables you to open up to 90% of a wall, transforming any space.
They are a very effective alternative to the traditional aluminium French door or even an aluminium sliding patio door, both typically offering a much lower opening at approximately 40%.
